Your New Team
The Personal Injuries Law Team provides strategic legal advice and representation to the Queensland Government and government agencies across a broad range of personal injury matters.

Acting on behalf of the Queensland Government Insurance Fund (QGIF) and other government clients, the team manages a diverse practice encompassing public liability, medical negligence and other complex claims. The team is recognised for its technical expertise, collaborative approach and commitment to delivering highquality legal services and client outcomes.

 
Your New Role
As Assistant Crown Solicitor, you will provide strategic leadership to a team of lawyers responsible for delivering high-quality legal services across the personal injuries practice.

Reporting to the Deputy Crown Solicitor, you will play a key role in leading team performance, developing capability, maintaining strong client relationships and supporting the effective delivery of legal services to government.

Combining technical expertise with people leadership, you will contribute to the continued success of the practice while helping to develop the next generation of legal talent within Crown Law.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading, mentoring and developing a team of lawyers
  • Providing strategic advice and oversight on complex personal injuries matters
  • Shaping litigation and dispute resolution strategies across significant claims
  • Building and maintaining trusted relationships with government clients and stakeholders
  • Supporting practice management, resource planning and service delivery outcomes
  • Fostering a collaborative, accountable and high-performing team culture
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and capability development across the practice

Your Skills Profile  
You will be an accomplished litigation lawyer with strong leadership capability, sound judgement and a commitment to delivering outstanding client service.
While experience in personal injuries law will be highly regarded, we are also interested in speaking with lawyers from related litigation practices who can demonstrate transferable expertise and strong advocacy experience.

You will bring:
  • Approximately 10+ years' post-admission experience in personal injuries, public liability, medical negligence or a related litigation practice
  • Strong advocacy and dispute resolution experience, including mediations, hearings, trials and appeals
  • Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring or developing legal practitioners
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to provide strategic advice on complex, sensitive or high-profile matters
  • Strong communication, decision-making and problem-solving capability
  • A collaborative and authentic leadership style
  • Experience managing competing priorities while maintaining exceptional professional standards
