Construction/Projects Disputes Lawyer

Location: Brisbane

Worktype: Full Time

For the Disputes Lawyer Who Wants Career-Defining Work on Major Projects

You've built a strong foundation in commercial disputes, and you're ready for matters with real scale, the kind of complex, high-value projects work that shapes a career and puts you in the room with the country's most prominent government, principal, and contractor clients.

The Firm
A top-tier firm with a long-standing reputation for high-quality work across the construction and infrastructure sectors. The firm invests meaningfully in its people through structured mentoring, world-class training, and an international study scholarship. Flexibility is standard practice, not a negotiation, and the firm is recognised for the strength of its inclusive culture.

The Timing
The Projects Disputes team is busy and growing, with genuine scope for a lawyer with two to four years' experience to step in and take on complex, high-stakes work. For the right candidate, this is an opportunity to work alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry, with real exposure to landmark matters and a firm that takes career development seriously.

The Work Itself
The practice acts for some of the most prominent government, principal, and contractor clients in the country, which means genuine variety in your week. One matter might involve a complex civil engineering dispute heading to arbitration. Another could see you working on a transport infrastructure matter in litigation. Another still might involve an energy or oil and gas dispute resolved through ADR. The work spans vertical infrastructure, mining, and major transport projects, and you'll appear across all forums. With a client base that crosses both public and private sectors, no two matters, or days, are the same.

Where You'll Land
You'll join a team that genuinely invests in its people. Benefits include 5 weeks of annual leave, a transparent bonus structure, 26 of paid parental leave regardless of gender with superannuation paid throughout, and access to a mentoring program. Flexible work practices are standard, with the ability to purchase additional leave, and the firm offers outstanding industry and business training alongside opportunities to travel.

Sound Like You?
You have 2-4 years post-admission experience at a reputable commercial firm, with exposure to litigation, arbitration, or ADR. You bring strong academics, sharp drafting skills, and commercial instincts, along with genuine enthusiasm for complex, high-stakes work. You're collaborative, confident, and client-focused.
