Dispute Resolution Lawyer

Location: Brisbane

Worktype: Full Time

For the Senior Associate Who Wants Complex Work Without the Billable Hour Grind

You've built solid foundations in dispute resolution and you're ready to step into a Senior Associate role where the work is genuinely high-stakes and the firm is structured around quality, not the clock.

The Firm
A full-service commercial firm with over 300 professionals across offices throughout Australia. Many ex-top-tier lawyers have made the move here, drawn by the quality of work and an impressive client base of leading Australian and global businesses. The firm takes a nationally focused view of its legal talent, meaning lawyers can engage on matters across offices where the work aligns with their interests or expertise.

The Timing
The team is growing, with particular scope to get involved in interstate work and to help build out the firm's capability in the construction disputes space. It's a strong moment to come in at Senior Associate level and shape where the practice heads next.

The Work Itself
You'll be in the thick of it from day one. One matter might involve a nationally coordinated class action; another, a regulatory investigation with significant commercial stakes; another still, a complex restructuring or insolvency dispute that draws in colleagues from across the firm's offices. The team represents leading Australian and global businesses in some of the country's most high-stakes corporate and regulatory disputes, which means the files are intellectually demanding and the strategic thinking matters as much as the technical work. You won't be siloed into a single type of matter, and you won't be defined by a practice group name.

Where You'll Land
A down-to-earth office with very approachable Partners and a holistic approach that prioritises getting the law right for clients over chasing hours. No billable targets, up to 26 weeks paid parental leave, flexible working, and genuine scope to shape your practice across different areas of dispute resolution.

Sound Like You?
You'll have 5+ years PAE from a highly regarded firm, with strong expertise in dispute resolution. Experience in restructuring and insolvency would be a real plus. Beyond the technical credentials, you bring a professional, client-focused approach, strong communication skills, and the kind of collaborative, positive energy that makes complex litigation work in a team setting.
