For the Property Lawyer Who Wants Ownership of a Major Leasing Portfolio

The Organisation
A long-established listed group operating across logistics, hotels, property development and a significant property portfolio. The business manages a broad range of commercial, retail, residential and industrial assets and continues to invest in new developments and growth initiatives.
The Role
Leasing sits at the centre of this role. You'll take ownership of a substantial portfolio, managing agreements to lease, leases, variations, special conditions and surrenders across commercial, retail, residential and industrial assets.
Beyond leasing, you'll advise on routine property sales, tenant exits, landlord and tenant issues, and broader commercial matters as they arise. Depending on your background, there is also scope to assist with procurement reviews, finance documentation, governance matters and listed-company processes.
More than a drafting role, this is an opportunity to become the go-to adviser for one of the group's largest ongoing legal workstreams and help shape a more proactive approach to leasing as new developments come online.
The Arrangement
The role is structured as a flexible consulting engagement, with an expected commitment of around 20 hours per week. You'll have genuine autonomy over when those hours are worked, provided stakeholders are supported and urgent matters are addressed appropriately. Additional hours can be undertaken and billed separately.
Sound Like You?
You may be an experienced Queensland Property Lawyer, Senior Associate, Special Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel with 12+ years' experience in property law, including strong commercial leasing and routine property transactions.
You'll be comfortable working from precedents, managing matters independently and providing practical advice across a diverse stakeholder group. Exposure to finance documents, governance processes or listed-company environments will be well regarded but is not essential.
Most importantly, you enjoy ownership, autonomy and being the person people rely on to keep matters progressing.
