Projects, Energy & Infrastructure Lawyer

Location: Brisbane

Worktype: Full Time

For the Senior Associate Ready for Complex Work in a Collaborative Team

You're an experienced projects lawyer, you've built strong technical foundations across projects, energy or infrastructure, and you're ready for the next stretch: closer partner access, more ownership and matters that genuinely move the dial. Ideally, in a team where the culture matches the calibre of the work.

The Firm
A leading international law firm advising on some of Australia's most complex and high-value energy and infrastructure projects. Premium client base across both public and private sectors, with a national footprint and a reputation for the calibre of work, and the calibre of people, it attracts.

The Timing
Energy and private capital sit at the centre of the firm's long-term growth strategy, and the national Projects, Energy & Infrastructure practice is in active investment mode. The Brisbane team is growing, partner-led, and connected to mandates running across the country, meaning real exposure to leading work from day one.

The Work Itself
The pipeline is genuinely diverse. One week you might be advising on a major renewables development; the next, working on energy M&A, a joint venture, or due diligence on a private capital play. PPPs and large-scale transport and social infrastructure projects sit alongside traditional energy work, with both public and private sector clients in the mix. The matters are often among the most high-profile in the market, and the structure of the team means you're in the room for them, not on the periphery.

Where You'll Land
A supportive, collaborative and low-ego team where senior lawyers actively invest in developing the people around them. Genuine flexibility, with no presenteeism, no unnecessary long hours, and a 60/40 office/home rhythm supported across the board. Benefits include 26 weeks paid parental leave, 5 weeks annual leave with the option to purchase more, paid study assistance, health and wellbeing benefits, and part-time arrangements on the table for the right person.

Sound Like You?
You'll have 5+ years' PAE in projects, energy, infrastructure or a closely related area, with solid transactional, projects or M&A experience. Strong drafting and advisory skills are essential; exposure to SPAs, due diligence and joint ventures is an advantage. You'll likely come from a top-tier, mid-tier or high-quality in-house background, bringing a commercial, pragmatic approach and a collaborative mindset. Australian or New Zealand qualified, with Australian practising eligibility required.
