Your New Role

Your new role will see you work on high-value property and construction insurance matters, including complex recoveries, first-party insurance disputes, property damage defence claims, and broader general insurance matters. 

In addition to running your own files and providing support/mentoring to developing junior lawyers, your key responsibilities include: 

  • Client engagement and strategic advisory to drive outcomes
  • Reviewing documents, preparing evidence, and handling complex litigation
  • Drafting and managing court correspondence, witness statements, and expert instructions
  • Liaising with counsel, preparing briefs, and attending court
  • Providing expert legal advice across a range of high-profile insurance matters

Your Skills Profile
  • 5+ Years PAE in general insurance law; 
  • experience in property/construction recoveries, liability defence acting on behalf of insurers;
  • experience in the day-to-day management of files and in running matters through court proceedings;
  • a team player, with a ‘can do’ attitude, and a strong interest in defendant insurance law;
  • excellent technical, analytical and drafting skills with a keen attention to detail;
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • the ability to organise and prioritise effectively; and 
  • experience supervising and mentoring junior lawyers.
